Bombardier secures $350 million deal for Global 6000 jets

Business jet manufacturer says 40% of its planes will be delivered outside Europe and the US in the next decade.

MONTREAL—Bombardier Aerospace has received an order for six business jets in a deal valued at $350 million.

The subsidiary of the Montreal-based transport company says it will provide the six Global 6000 jets to an undisclosed customer.

The value of the deal is based on the 2012 list price for the typical Global 6000 jets, which feature a stand-up shower and its vision flight deck for eight passengers.

The plane has a list price of more than $58.5 million.

The ultra long-range business aircraft operates at altitudes of up to 15,545 metres and flies faster, farther, accesses shorter airfields, and climbs quicker than any other business jet in its class.

The backlog for its Global line of planes is 35 months.

The world’s largest business jet manufacturer has said that 40% of its private jets will be delivered outside of Europe and the US over the next decade, representing 400 additional units per year.
